At Back Forty Action, a 501(c)(4) non-profit, we work tirelessly to protect the dignity, prosperity, and unique heritage of those who call rural America “home.”

Our work focuses on preserving the rural way of life while guaranteeing the same opportunities for rural people that urban residents have. Our name nods to the “back forty,” that final patch of farmland just beyond the homestead, symbolizing the potential that lies in unassuming spaces.
